Grade 2 Projects

Our second graders just completed their "Black History" Reports. After reading books on specific personalities, the students researched about the influential person, created posters and then reported on their findings.
Good Job, Mrs. Spiegle and her Grade 2 students !!

Mayor Williams Visits Akiva

Last week we had a special visit from Mayor Williams. The mayor talked to our students from grades 3-6. He offered an informative presentation about city government and about his role in the city's operation. He also spent time answering the questions that the students posed to him.

The mayor's visit was greatly appreciated by all of us who attended his talk.

"Meet the Artists" Show at the Mall

This week Akiva families were invited to the Eastwood Mall Art Gallery to "meet the artists" and to view the students' art works.

The event was well attended by students and their families. Cookies and refreshments were also provided.

Mrs. Griffith, our Art instructor, and her students are to be commended for all of their works that are on display through February 22 at the mall.
