Opera Western Reserve

Today we had the Opera Western Reserve Young Artists come and spend time with us at Akiva. We were entertained and learned much about the components and the languages of an opera.

What a talented group of young people!! Thanks for a very enjoyable program.

Students' First Torah Reading

This morning we had three fourth grade students read from the Torah for the first time. This is a special occasion for these students who have prepared for this milestone.

Grade 6 Smartboard

Our sixth grade class today used the Newseum website of newspaper front pages to view some current events and to examine newspapers for areas they were interested in. Using the interactive whiteboard is an effective way for the class to view the front page displays.

Kindergarten and their Hamentaschen

Today several of the classes were in the kitchen area making Hamentaschen, cookies with a sweet filling. Purim just isn't Purim without Hamentaschen.
